In the summer of 2025 019, an artspace in Ghent opend up their space for their Off Season programme. In a week time Amber Meulenijzer and me built a very oversized lesie speaker. A motorized rotating platform with an arm of 6 meters, on each end a speaker. Miraculously, in a few days time, we had an operational system and had some days left to search for interesting sounds. We invited Anton Lambert to join us on electronics and double bass. Him and me playing our instruments, Amber playing oscillators and controlling feedback in her signature way.
Opposed to normal rotating leslie speakers, adding size brings a way bigger spacial experience. We got up to a mad 2 rotations per second, meaning 4 speakers passing you in a second. With this diametre it ads up to quite an intimidating speed.
In August we redid the experiment at Gula Gula festival in Vilvoorde where Loverman joined the performance.
Soon we start work on an updated version of this sculpture.
